„Adventure Island II“ follows Master Higgins on his quest to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend from alien invaders. The classic jump-and-run gameplay remains intact: Higgins must avoid obstacles, defeat enemies, and continuously collect food to keep his hunger bar from depleting. A single hit spells his end — unless he has power-ups like weapons or a skateboard. A major addition is the introduction of dinosaur mounts, granting special abilities such as flying or shooting fireballs. Before each level, players can strategically select their collected power-ups. Higgins journeys through eight diverse worlds with alternate paths and faces a boss at the end of each area.
